St. Stephen Baptist Church

Overseer Lanier C. Twyman, Sr., is the Pastor of St. Stephen Baptist Church, located in Temple Hills, Maryland. He was licensed and ordained at Mt. Jezreel Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Doctor Harold E. Trammell and also served as the Associate Pastor of Evangelism at the Riverside Baptist Church in Fort Washington, Maryland under the late Pastor Norris W. Sydnor, Jr.

He is a native Washingtonian, and attended the University of the District of Columbia, where he received a degree in Business Management. He received further spiritual training, from the Maple Springs Bible College, the National Bible College, and Andersonville Baptist Seminary, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies. Overseer Twyman is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Episcopal Studies. This program has allowed him to study on the campuses of Harvard, Yale, Emory, and Princeton Universities.

	Overseer Lanier C. Twyman, Sr., is the Pastor of St. Stephen Baptist Church, located in Temple Hills, Maryland. He was licensed and ordained at Mt. Jezreel Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Doctor Harold E. Trammell and also served as the Associate Pastor of Evangelism at the Riverside Baptist Church in Fort Washington, Maryland under the late Pastor Norris W. Sydnor, Jr. He is a native Washingtonian, and attended the University of the District of Columbia, where he received a degree in Business Management. Overseer Twyman is the Founder and Director of the Mountain Top Ministries, an urban outreach ministry. Hundreds of lives have been transformed through this ministry and as the Pastor of St. Stephen Baptist Church. Since being called to serve as the Pastor of the arm of this Ministry to reach deeper into the plight of homelessness, hunger and unemployment to assist in these areas by preaching and teaching deliverance. Overseer Twyman is not only an anointed leader in the area of shepherding, but is gifted in the office of Evangelism and has led many souls to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Since being called to serve as the Pastor of St. Stephen Baptist Church, numerous ministries have been established to assist the body of Christ in practical living and providing opportunities for worshippers to serve. In February of 2004, under the recommendation of Bishop Michael V. Kelsey (Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship DC State Bishop), Overseer Twyman was appointed and consecrated to serve as Overseer for the Prince Georges County District for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship. Overseer Twyman established a weekly radio ministry on 1340 WYCB and a television ministry on Comcast and DCTV in an effort to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in conjunction with the Great Commission. Overseer Twyman is a sought-after preacher/teacher and is well respected in the ecumenical and civic communities.
